Yerba Mate culture centers around community coming together and sharing with one another. That’s why at One Love Festival the tri created “Drinks for Dreams”. A cozy spot with the intention of stewarding community conversation. With a shady couch and a cooler full of ice cold mate, we invited people to share their dreams with us, while sharing some Guayaki Yerba Mate.
Often when we meet people the conversation is surface water. Sticking to the easy and expected topics of “How are you?”, “Where you based out of?” , “What do you do?”. But “what you do” is not always who you are. We all have dreams and aspirations that live inside us. For some, our dreams are so buried beneath the surface. Speaking them out can be a vulnerable experience. That is why it is so important. We wanted to create a container where others could embrace that vulnerability and share from their hearts. It takes courage to speak out your dreams, especially on camera.
When we give others this container for authentic expression, we are giving their dreams an opportunity to manifest. Our words are powerful tools of creation and manifestation. As we have seen by example with social revolutionaries like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., it is the sharing of our dreams that create change. When we express our vision to others not only are we giving our dreams a voice, we are giving them an audience. When we do this, we find that there are many others that share our same dreams. We then feel heard, understood, and supported. Entire movements have been stewarded on this type of sharing.
What we found during our Drinks for Dreams experiment at One Love Festival was that no matter how seemingly small or grandiose the dream was, the result was the same. Those sharing were filled with passion and you could see their eyes light up. Finally, someone cares about their dreams, finally they can be heard and seen. This led participants into a state of passion in action. They wanted to get involved, learn more about the tri, and they often returned the favor by asking us to share about our dreams.
We shared that we see a world where our future isn’t written by the hands of government, or large corporate interests. We see a world where people and conscious businesses are working together to make the changes they want to see. Where we spend our dollars like votes. Where we value each other and love each other regardless of social, geographical, or cultural differences. We shared that it is our dream to create a conscious party, where people come together in participation to create a thriving future for all. After expressing our dreams, we saw the eyes of the listeners light up even more. They asked “How can I get involved? How can I be a part of the conscious party?”
It is everyday people like you and me that have the power to create the world we dream. An unspoken dream will be buried with an unfulfilled life. When we express our visions for the future, and share them with one another we create the opportunity for our dreams to grow and be supported in the process. If you want to get involved with us and be a part of our dream for better brighter future, you can join the conscious party by clicking here.
We are building a network of revolutionaries. You can choose to just sign up on our mailing list, or take it a step further and sign up as a volunteer. Volunteers will have the opportunity to collaborate with us and be a part of our community initiatives. We look forward to connecting with you, and sharing our dreams together.
