Dr. Bronner's In all that we do, let us be generous, fair & loving to Spaceship Earth and all Its inhabitants. For we’re ALL-ONE OR NONE! ALL-ONE!”September marks the 70th Anniversary of our beloved conscious party partner, Dr. Bronner's. Dear Sisters & Brothers – fellow gardeners of Spaceship Earth

From the beginning, my grandfather saw the birth of our company as an opportunity to create positive change in the world. His life’s work as a visionary soapmaker was to “unite Spaceship Earth.” Through the labels on his soap and with almost every waking breath, he promoted the All-One truth of our transcendent unity. It is a privilege to be alive on this planet at this moment. Living our gifts in a way that benefits our sisters and brothers. We are humbled to be part of a community of radically awesome life artists and activists working to unite us all on Spaceship Earth.

    -David Bronner, CEO

September marks the 70th Anniversary of our beloved conscious party partner, Dr. Bronner’s. To pay tribute to this revolutionary company that paved the way for so many of the conscious businesses we love today. We want to share and celebrate the ethos behind their success. The internal compass that guides their operations is their six cosmic principles. We want to take this opportunity to share those principles with you. May they guide your voting dollars and your internal compass as you share your passions and purpose with the world.

    Dr. Bronners Cosmic Principles

    1. OURSELVES: Work Hard! Grow!

Number one in Dr. Bronner’s Moral ABC: Work hard! Prosper! Learn, grow, improve. Success is the engine that makes everything else possible.

The message is clear: We are responsible for ourselves but also each other, and as we grow we must grow responsibly. Bronners founder Emanuel Bronner  pioneered the organic and fair trade movement during the 1960’s. 70 years later they now are certified B corb and part of the constructive capitalism movement. Emanuel Bronner believed that a company has a responsibility to “Share the profits with the workers and the earth from which you made it!” His son Ralph called this approach Constructive Capitalism and they practice it in every aspect of their business—from the products they make, throughout their supply chains, to their dedicated activism and charitable giving, to their relationships with employees, customers and suppliers. It’s important to dr. bronners that their products have a real and positive impact on the people and communities worldwide that make them.

    1. OUR CUSTOMERS: Do Right By Customers

The First Ingredient is LOVE. Lead with heart, take time, give best – serve customers as you would serve mother-daughter-son.

Only the purest organic and fair trade ingredients- most product vegan and certified to the same organic standards as food! No synthetic preservatives, no foaming agents. Body, hair, face, mouth & teeth- food, dishes, laundry, mopping, pets – Dr. Bronners is the very best for human, home and Earth. Their soaps are made using traditional methods. Their Independent certifications ensure that their products meet the highest standards for ecological and social sustainability. Dr Bronner’s fights for a marketplace where consumers are not misled and where organic standards are applied to body care just as they are to food.

    1. OUR EMPLOYEES: Treat Employees Like Family

Be kind, reward generously, support good and healthy living. Seek and encourage the best in one another. For whatever unites us is greater than whatever divides us!

Dr. Bronner’s is a family business and consider all who work with them to be a part of their extended family. Every “family member” in every position within the company has an important role to play and deserves to enjoy the best benefits and compensation programs that they can offer. For example they offer 100% free health care for employees and their families, a 5 to 1 cap on executive salaries, a yearly bonus up 25% of salary for full-time employees, and 15% of salary in profit-sharing.

    1. OUR SUPPLIERS: Be Fair To Suppliers

Build relationships with organic farmers and producers to create equitable supply chains. Fair prices for farmers, living wages and excellent working conditions for workers, investment in communities, respect for land and people!

Dr. Bronner’s relationships with their organic suppliers isdirect, local, personal, sustainable, tangible, and verifiable. It’s a way for customers to know that the products they are purchasing will have a real and positive impact on the people and communities who make them. For them, it’s a continuation of Emanuel Bronner’s legacy. He wanted to change the world for the better with the label on their soap bottles. Dr Bronner’s now aims to do the same with what is inside and how it is sourced. They now cultivate community development projects that support small scale farmers and local economies.

    1. OUR EARTH: Treat The Earth Like Home

Make humble and mindful use of the earth’s gifts. Do not waste, do not harm the land or people or animals. What comes from the earth must go back!

Dr Bronner’s believes that Healthy soil = healthy planet. That is why they are committed to regenerative agriculture, they know that it has the power to reverse climate change. In fulfillment of this commitment they also cultivate soil enrichment and tree planting programs. Their commitment to earth stewardship doesn’t end at the farm, they also are leading the way with innovative packaging. Every product they produce is 100% post-consumer recycled plastic. By turning used plastic bottles into new plastic bottles and products they help conserve virgin resources, reduce landfill, and capitalize on the energy already invested in making existing plastic products. They have even gone the extra mile and installed solar panels at their manufacturing plant to reduce the electricity waste. They also partnered with water-filtration innovators to clean their gray water. Even down to details, they optimized their surrounding manufacturing plant in southern california with drought tolerant native species.

    1. OUR COMMUNITY: Fund & Fight For What’s Right!

Be an engine for positive change – share profits, share talent, share muscle, share voice – give & give, fund & fight!

Dr. Bronner’s has always been an activist company, dating back to when Emanuel Bronner was calling on the human react to unite from street corners and auditoriums, selling his peppermint castile soap on the side. Carrying forward that same activist spirit, it is their mission to continue to use the company today to fight for and financially support causes that they believe in. Causes like: regenerative agriculture, fair trade, animal advocacy, industrial hemp and drug policy reform; and living wages among others. They are committed and strategic the causes they fight for. They are known for supporting federal/state initiatives to raise minimum wage and fairly compensate hard working people. Dr Bronner’s has been leading the battle to bring hemp agriculture back and end counter productive cannabis prohibition in the U.S. They also are huge advocate and supporter of MAPPS an organization committed to psychedelic medicine as a tool for healing trauma, and awakening compassion. They support many youth programs/charities that boost the lives and communities locally at home and abroad.

We often speak about the importance of voting with your dollars. This exploration of the cosmic principles of Dr. Bronner’s drives home this sentiment. We have the power to create a better world by investing in and supporting the businesses that care. By supporting companies like this we are not just serving ourselves and our families with amazing products, we are being an active instrument of change. Fueling the revolution of conscious capitalism and the power of community working together towards solutions for a better, brighter future.
